I don’t know why the Senate dweebs decided to actually post the current healthcare bill, because any resolutions to do just that were voted down by a party line vote (Dems voting against revealing it), but anyway, it has been posted.
The bill can be found here.
The Congressional Budget Office is supposed to be a non-partisan orgianization that is supposed to go through all of these spending bills and give an honest, non-political opinion of what each bill will cost. Here is the Director’s opinion of this bill, as it was submitted above.
The Senate Finance Committee will be voting on this on Tuesday October 13th, 2009. Make sure you call these people and let them know they are barking up the wrong tree. Call them, fax them, email them. Do this to their offices in DC, do it to all of their home offices back in their states. You can call the Committee’s office at (202) 224-4515.
The two main people running this circus are Max Baucus (D-MT) and Chuck Grassley (R-NE). These are not the only people, the rest are listed here. Make sure you let them know that anything less than what you expect is unacceptable.
